General John J. Pershing Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior who demonstrates preeminent intellectual capability and energetic leadership in the classroom, school, and community. Top candidates often score in the top three percent nationally on the ACT or SAT. Interview is required. In order to receive award, applicant must be accepted for admission to the university by January 15. Recipient has the option of spending a semester or summer studying abroad. University coordinates the study abroad programs and provides funding to the extent of $4,000 for the semester or a proportionate amount for the summer. Recipient will become a member of the Pershing Society, which promotes intellectual and social enrichment. Award is one of the most prestigious scholarships offered to high school graduates.
Combined-Ability Scholarship
Description

Selection and award amounts are based on the percentile of standardized test scores, high school GPA, and high school class rank. Recipient is automatically considered and notified of their scholarship in their official acceptance letter from the University. Applicant with a 170 combined ability or higher will receive an award ranging from $2,000 to $3,000.
University Scholar Award
Description

Applicant must rank in top 5% of their secondary school class or have a minimum 3.75 GPA with a minimum composite ACT score of 33.
Merit Scholarship
Description

Applicant must be a first-year or new transfer student who attends full-time. Award is based upon academic achievement and co-curricular activity involvement.
Richard Green Scholarship
Description

Awarded to applicant who will contribute to cultural diversity of the university. Selection is based upon GPA, class rank, ACT scores, community involvement, and essay. Financial need is considered.
Presidential - Founders Scholarship
Description

Students will be automatically considered for award using their admissions application to the university. Strong GPA, class rank, and ACT scores will be considered.
Lucy Hanes Chatham Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman, have a superior academic record, and demonstrate leadership, responsibility, and concern for others. Selection is also based upon creativity, initiative, motivation, resourcefulness, and vigor. Finalists are invited for competition during Scholarship Weekend.
Governor's School Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman and have attended a Governor's School summer session.
Heritage Scholarship
Description

Applicant must be a woman. Selection is based upon excellent academic achievement and significant extracurricular involvement in high school, with preference given to minority students.
